Monmouth County Mosquito Control Division
Assistant Superintendent, Mosquito Extermination
Location: 1901 Wayside Road, Tinton Falls, NJ 07724
Salary Range: $70,000 to $92,000
Full-time, 40 hrs/week, M-F
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the biological sciences.
Experience: Four (4) years of experience in mosquito control and extermination work, two (2) years of
which shall have been in a supervisory capacity.
Licenses: Current commercial pesticide license issued by NJDEP with certification in CORE and Category
8B; valid NJ Driver’s license
Working under the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent will supervise mosquito control and
tick management personnel and oversee daily operations.
Qualifying candidates should have:
Prior experience in governmental administrative procedures such as purchasing, budget preparation, grant management, human resources processes (i.e. workers compensation, civil service hiring and progressive discipline) is highly desirable.

Monmouth County Mosquito Control Division is currently accepting applications for two (2) Inspector Trainee, Mosquito Extermination positions. Under direction and supervision, the employee will learn to locate, recognize and evaluate water habitats that support mosquito development. After training, the employee will select and apply appropriate chemical and biological mosquito controls using various application equipment. Employee will be inspecting documented sites as well as responding to requests for service from the public. Inspector Trainees will also deploy mosquito traps to assess mosquito populations. May also remove small blockages from streams and ditches to improve water flow.
As an employee, candidates will be working outdoors and should be physically capable of maneuvering in various terrains, capable of keeping detailed records, be curious about natural habitats, be able to learn to operate and perform basic maintenance of motorized equipment, understand basic math and map directions, and possess good conversational and social interaction skills.
Qualifications
Appointees must be over 18 years of age and possess a valid New Jersey driver's license. Employee must become a licensed NJ Commercial Pesticide Applicator with Category 8B as a Trainee. At the conclusion of a successful year as Trainee, employee will advance to Inspector.

State of Rhode Island - Department of Environmental Management: Senior Biologist (Biometrician),
Mosquito Abatement Program
Job Description:
This position is within the Agriculture branch of the Division of Agriculture and Forest Environment, specifically within the Mosquito Abatement program, but will also work closely with the RI Department of Health. The principal duty is to conduct the seasonal mosquito surveillance program to detect mosquito-borne diseases. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of that program, including but not limited to trapping mosquitoes statewide, identification of mosquito species, packaging and submission of mosquitoes to the state health lab, participating in planning meetings to mitigate the risk of mosquito borne diseases, working with communities to reduce risk of mosquito borne diseases, salt marsh restoration activities and management of seasonal support staff. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in entomology and transmission of arboviral diseases. Moderate laboratory, computer, and report writing skills are preferred. The candidate should also feel comfortable making presentations and being interviewed by the media.
Salary: $73,517.00 - $82,725.00 Annually
