Objective: To honor the contributions of the late Daniel M. Jobbins to the sciences of mosquito research and control and his service to mosquito control agencies in New Jersey; and to promote and recognize the mosquito research of graduate students attending a college/ university anywhere in the United States.
Scholarship Amount: one $4,000(four thousand dollars) scholarship awarded annually.
Scholarship Guidelines
Candidate qualifications:
● The applicant must be a full time matriculating student in an accredited graduate program.
● The student must be conducting (or recently have completed) research regarding mosquitoes (or ticks), their biology and/or practical control.
Application Procedure:
● Complete the NJMCA Daniel M. Jobbins Scholarship application form.
● Submit a statement of research in 4 (four) pages or less.
● Include curriculum vitae or resume.
● Provide a letter of recommendation from your major advisor.
● Submit the completed application packet to:
Recipient Responsibilities:
● The student must perform their research to the best of their abilities.
● The student will present their research to the assembled members at the next NJMCA meeting.
● Scholarship recipient MUST present their research within 2 years of scholarship award receipt, if for any reason your student status changes, please be prepared to gift the remainder of the unspent scholarship monies to the lab under which you were studying (with a letter from the PI as proof), or promptly return it to NJMCA.

The recipient of the award will be chosen by the NJMCA Scholarship Committee.

The application packet must be received by the Scholarship Committee no later than 5:00pm on February 9, 2024.
Objective: To promote and recognize the research and studies of college students in a curriculum that may be peripheral to mosquito control, but whose research may contribute new information to the mosquito control community. This award is limited to undergraduate students enrolled in a college or university in New Jersey.
Scholarship Amount: one $1,000(one thousand dollars) scholarship awarded annually.

Scholarship Amount: one $500(five hundred dollars) scholarship awarded annually.
Scholarship Guidelines
Candidate qualifications:
● The applicant must be or have been a full time high school student in good standing for the most recent school year.
● The student must be accepted to attend a college or university and have an interest in engaging in studies that may benefit the mosquito control community.
● The applicant must have a family member or sponsor who is an active member of the New Jersey Mosquito Control Association.
Application Procedure:
● Complete the NJMCA College Scholarship application form.
● Submit a 500 word essay on why you think mosquito control is important both locally and globally.
● Include a copy of high school transcripts.
● Provide a letter of recommendation from a teacher, guidance counselor, or employer.
